Exploration of the Mundane

Tonight I asked someone,
“Do you ever get tired of the routine? waking up, going to work, getting home, going to sleep and then doing it all over again?”

She said
“Yeah but that is a part of life.”

I said
“But it doesn’t have to be”

Life shouldn’t be compliant.
Life shouldn’t be waiting for your next vacation,
or forgetting what it feels like to laugh so hard you hurt.
We are on a continuing adventure, forever exploring.
Maybe there are times when all we can do is explore the objects surrounding us.
Of course there will be times when the adventure has seemed to be replaced by routine,
by the inevitable.
But that shouldn’t keep us from exploring.
Even the mind we own has such an unfathomable depth of information.
Why should we take that for granted?
We shouldn’t, we can’t.
When we start taking things for granted,
that is when we get complacent.
That is when the adventure will cease to exist.
Freedom is a state of being, a willingness to see the new in each day.
When we are free, we are never still.
We are always evolving.
As we should be,
as we were put on this Earth to do.
