1. The Great Law
“As you sow, so shall you reap. This is also known as the Law of Cause and Effect. Whatever we put out in the Universe is what comes back to us. If what we want is happiness, peace, friendship, love… Then we should BE happy, peaceful, loving, a friend. Negative energy sent out to others will come back to you 10 fold.”
My beliefs are so deeply rooted in this law, yet still but I have to remind myself that it’s not always easy to do. It is easy to start thinking negatively, to get knocked down so many times in a row that you have urges to make selfish actions. This Law of Karma hits home for me because it is a reminder to treat others as you would like to be treated. It is a conscious decision to rise above the situation at hand. I have definitely retaliated when I felt like someone was trying to harm myself and my loved ones. I realized though, that retaliation is what further inspires the universe to give the negativity you are putting out. As much as you may be pushed to hate, it is always better to love. It is always better to treat with fairness. Maybe the people who are trying to harm you the most are the people that need your help the most. It never hurts to try. It’s really simple things. Instead of getting angry with a friend for not keeping in touch, send them the text you wish you received. Instead of getting impatient with your significant other, remind yourself how many times they have been patient with you when you didn’t necessarily deserve it. Focus on the things that happened today that were good. Maybe the only thing good that happened today was that you woke up. Celebrate it. Stop an argument before it starts by changing your tone, by telling someone how it made you feel before lashing out.
Give to the world what you want the world to give to you.
